#7 Restart, Line Command

#7 Restart, Line Command | Autodesk Inventor

While using the Line command, typically line segments are connected one to another. If you need to create a line segment in a different part of the sketch which is not connected to the current linked line segments, you do not need to exit the command and restart the line command. This can be done while in the command is active by following these steps.

  1. While Line command is active Right-click in the graphics window.
  2. Select Restart from the Marking Menu Overflow Menu
  3. Line command restarts without ending and restarting the command.

#8 Inferred Trim

#8 Inferred Trim | Autodesk Inventor
Trim segment instead of trimming a complete segment

The Trim command can infer trim sections based on the existing sketch geometry even if the segments don’t intersect.

The point in space there two sketch geometry segments would theoretically intersect is can be used as a trim point.

If you hold the Ctrl key on the keyboard you can specify the trim segment instead of trimming a complete segment if there are multiple theoretical intersections on the same geometry.
