Extruding a Surface in Realize Shape | Siemens NX 2206 Series

The Extrude Cage function in Realize Shape application, Extrudes selected control cage faces, edges, or polylines by translating them and creating new faces to fill spaces in between.
You must be in the Realize Shape application. It is located in the Home tab > Create group > Extrude/Revolve Drop Down > Extrude Cage.
Go to the Home tab select the Extrude/Revolve drop-down menu and select Extrude Cage, as shown in the image below.

The Extrude Cage dialog appears. Under Face or Edge highlight the Select Object and select a face on the block, as shown in the image below. Under Method, section selects the Drag Linear tab and in the Distance box, you have the option to place a numerical value to extrude the selected face.




With the block face selected you have two more options of extruding the selected face, either by placing a numerical value in the Distance box or by holding and dragging the blue arrowhead forward as shown in the images below.

When finished select Finish in the NX Realize Shape group to exit the Realize Shape application.
